Eligibility

How to become eligible for delegation as a validator

Validators running their mainnet Solana validator on Edgevana qualify for delegation from the Edgevana Stake Pool. Although delegations only go to Edgevana based validators, the algorithm runs across all Solana validators. If a validator switches to Edgevana and qualifies for delegation, they are immediately eligible to receive delegation the next time the algorithm runs (every epoch). Conversely, if a validator moves away from Edgevana, they are no longer eligible for delegation and will lose their delegation.

If you are a validator and are interested in switching to Edgevana, we encourage you to check out our server page at https://srv.edgevana.com/solana-validator-servers.

Ineligibility

A validator can be taken out of the active validator set or be marked as ineligible if a validator participates in activities that are deemed as harmful to the network. All activities deemed harmful will be listed on this page with at least 5 epochs advanced notice before enforcement.

At some point in the future, if an ineligible validator can prove they no longer participate in the harmful activity, their ineligible status will be removed, giving them the potential to join the active validator set again.
